This class meets Thursdays 10-12:30 for 8 weeks. For students with wheel throwing experience.

Learn to throw large bowls and cylinder based vessels and explore adding coils and multi sectional segments onto your base pot.

This class is designed to further develop throwing skills, emphasizing body dynamics and sensitivity, when throwing larger forms.

You will:

•Learn how to efficiently use your body to center 5 to 20 pounds of clay.

•Explore methods to comfortably open and raise your centered clay.

•Develop sensitivity to know what’s happening between your fingers when pulling a wall and knowing the relative thickness of your base and walls through touch alone.

•Explore adding coils and multidirectional segments onto your base pot.

•Learn to Spiral wedge.

Up to 4 hours per week of non-class independent studio time are included with class tuition.  $360 Tuition includes 1 bag of clay, additional clay may be purchased through the studio.
