The Handle Factory was founded in 2019 by Molly Cantor, a potter and pottery teacher who has had a clay studio and gallery in Shelburne Falls for over 20 years. Amherst potter Paige Wilder is currently studio manager and we have several interns to help keep things running smoothly. The fully equipped space is beautiful, bright, spacious and welcoming. It is located at”The Mill” as the former Lamson and Goodnow campus is now called, which is being beautifully renovated, and houses many artist studios, offices and maker spaces.
We offer classes for adults and children, special workshops, and studio memberships.
Directions:
The Handle Factory is located at 49 Conway St. in Shelburne Falls (Buckland side).
When coming from town, cross the bridge from Shelburne to Buckland and take a left, bearing left to hug the river and stay on Conway St. Our driveway is the 2nd driveway on the left AFTER the Lamson Factory store. Turn in just before the red barn, and park in the area on the right, behind the barn. The Handle building is perpendicular to Conway St, and our space is the one on the first floor with the wooden ramp.
