Description
Functional Ware – Intermediate to Advanced
8 Tuesdays starting January 6th
This class focuses on refining skills for creating all types of functional pottery. Students will deepen their understanding of form, trimming, and handle making while developing precision and consistency. We’ll explore throwing smaller forms off the hump. Spiral wedging will be taught and ability to center at least 15 pounds of clay will be mastered for throwing off the hump.
The focus is on developing fluid body mechanics, sensitivity, and a natural rhythm with the clay—so your pots feel as good to make as they are to use.
Tuition $360 includes up to 25 lbs of clay, glazes and firing.
Students are encouraged to bring thier own tools.
The class includes up to 4 hours of independent practice time in the studio per week.
