Description

This class will meet on Thursdays 5:30-8pm for 8 weeks.

Mugs, bowls, plates, planter pots, vases…learn to create functional art that you will enjoy using every day!  This class will cover techniques for making functional pottery using soft and hard clay slabs. We will explore various techniques for creating surface designs and textures on clay, options for using forms, molds and templates, and methods for joining and attaching clay pieces to create unique and personal pieces.  This class is geared towards individuals with no experience working with clay, those with a little prior experience who are looking to rekindle their love of pottery, and beginning wheel workers who want to expand their skill sets with clay.

Up to 4 hours per week of non-class independent studio time are included with class tuition.  $360 Tuition includes up to 1 bag of clay.

Tools are available to borrow from the studio, and must be cleaned returned after each use. Basic tools can be purchased  online, at a clay supply company, or through The Handle Factory.
